See What Could Remain After Liens and Obligations

Enter an estimated purchase price and known obligations. The tool generates a net-proceeds estimate, deduction waterfall and visual breakdown before you request a professional review.

Quick answer

A lien, child-support balance, tax debt or bankruptcy does not produce one automatic answer. The relevant amount, legal priority, ownership of the payment rights and required court authorization must be reviewed. This calculator performs arithmetic only.

How the net-proceeds estimate works

The estimate begins with the proposed gross purchase price. It then subtracts only the obligations and expenses entered by the user. The result is not a legal determination that a creditor can reach the payment rights or that an obligation must be paid at closing.

STEP 1

Enter the proposed price

Use a written offer or a reasonable estimate. Do not use the total face value of all future payments.

STEP 2

Add known obligations

Use current payoff information when available. Do not assume a collection-account balance is automatically an enforceable lien.

STEP 3

Request document review

A purchaser and qualified professionals must review ownership, priority, state law, court orders and transfer eligibility.

Debt and lien are not interchangeable

A debt is an obligation to pay. A lien is a legal claim against identified property or rights to property. A bankruptcy estate, support order, tax lien, levy or judgment may raise different questions. Never rely on this calculator to determine ownership, enforceability or legal priority.

Frequently asked questions

Can a lien prevent a structured settlement sale?

A lien does not create one universal result. Its effect depends on validity, priority, the property it reaches, state law, court orders and the proposed transaction. A purchaser and qualified professionals must review the documents.

Can child-support arrears be paid from sale proceeds?

A proposed transaction may account for verified child-support obligations, but the required treatment depends on applicable enforcement orders, state law and court review. The calculator does not determine legal priority.

What happens if obligations exceed the purchase price?

The calculator displays a shortfall instead of negative net proceeds. That result indicates that the proposed transaction requires additional review and may need to be changed or may not be available.

Is the calculator result a guaranteed DRB Capital offer?

No. It is an educational estimate based only on numbers entered by the user. DRB Capital determines whether it can consider a transaction and any actual terms after reviewing the payment documents and circumstances.
